Turn off your phone for More Happiness

I hope 2017 is treating everyone well!

While I do not necessarily believe in blatant resolutions, I do believe in self-improvement and self-discovery. For so many years of my life, I have been hard on myself. I always had to get the best grade, I always had to have the best job, I always had to be the best daughter, sister, girlfriend, etc. Frankly- it was exhausting. I found that I was simply just trying too hard. I tried yoga and I tried meditation, but my mind was never really at peace. I would always compare myself and think about the things that I just didn’t have. How toxic is that?

I learned to focus on the things that I DO have and to take a step back once in a while. That means shutting off my phone for a few hours each day. I started doing this and I found that I was less inclined to visit social media which would make me less sad because I was not comparing myself anymore. I enjoyed the reality of life more and I explored the world.

While I am still a work in progress (like we all are), I am finding ways to ease my stress and to simply let go and BE HAPPY. Life is way to short to be anything else!
